Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Wholesale Commercial Real Estate (WCRE) operates throughout the United States, as well as Canada and the United Kingdom, to deliver a comprehensive platform of financing and banking products for experienced commercial real estate companies including balance sheet lending, CMBS origination and distribution, loan servicing, agency financing for multifamily properties, and debt and equity capital for affordable housing.

The* Senior Housing Finance Group (SHF)* is a specialty lending division within Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate platform that provides financial products and services to leading seniors housing developers and operators throughout the United States, Canada and the UK. SHF team members focus exclusively on the private-pay seniors housing market. Target customers include institutional real estate funds dedicated to seniors housing, and large developers and operators of private-pay independent living, assisted living and memory care facilities. Our underwriting analyzes People/Credit /Real Estate in that order. Lending activities today emphasize construction loan and interim refinancing for balance sheet loans. Additionally, SHF works closely with Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital to provide long-term financing through GSE agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD).

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior relationship managers to build and manage existing SHF client relationships, and identify and establish high potential new relationships with leading hotel owners in the eastern region.

  • Perform market research to support key assumptions in underwritings/financial models.

  • Prepare the initial evaluation of collateral senior housing property using financial models and well supported forecast assumptions.

  • Prepare detailed financial reviews of SHF sponsors and prospects.

  • Collaborate with the SHF Underwriting to complete comprehensive collateral underwriting, including cash flow projections, comp set evaluation, market analyses and supply/demand/penetration assessments.

  • Assist in the monitoring of the existing loan portfolio including review of monthly operating information and NIC reports, and preparation of quarterly relationship and loan reports on CRE’s proprietary QSR system.

  • Assist with the preparation of detailed loan updates and operating forecasts for senior management and credit partners.

  • Assist senior relationship mangers with the closing of a transaction.

  • Order and track third-party reports and reviews such as appraisal, environmental and costing analysis.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of account relationship management experience, credit analysis experience, or a combination of both

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good analytical and quantitative analysis skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Strong technical/computer skills to maintain various models, and handle multiple ad hoc requests
