Project Coordinator/Deputy Project Manager (Job Number:434592)


SAIC is seeking a Task Manager/ Project Coordinator to support a DC Government customer. The individual selected will perform the duties of a Deputy Project Manger responsible for working side by side with the Project Manager and other members of the team.

  • This position is located in Washington, DC (downtown) and all work is done on-site.

Job Description

The Task Manager supports the Program Manager in managing day-to-day operations, vender coordination, and program execution. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and customer management.

  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of contract requirements.

  • Assignments are task or activity oriented.

  • Work reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Helps to manage experienced professionals (e.g. engineers, scientists, financial analysts) who exercise discretion and independent judgment performing assignments

  • Vendor coordination – Coordinate HVAC, Electrical, and Cabling projects with customer and subcontractors

  • Primary liaison between customer Project Managers and subcontractors

  • Collecting project requirements and generating detailed statements of work (SOWs)

  • Ad hoc reporting requirements by the government and Program

  • Tracking Project status and ensuring timely delivery



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related discipline and 3+ years of experience. Additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

  • Possession of excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Basic understanding of infrastructure technologies, including storage, networking, virtualization, and associated implementation and migration processes, as well as the latest project management practices and standards a plus

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
