Operations Intern
The Warner Theatre in DC is looking for interns. We are looking for talented individuals who are driven, willing to work hard and complete tasks around the office and venue. This internship will allow students to gain experience in office and venue management and operations, event management, and corporate sales. Please see below for key responsibilities for this internship listed by department. This position is unpaid and requires 20-30 dedicated hours per week. These 20-30 hours can be completed Monday through Friday between 10 am-6 pm, with opportunities to work later/weekend hours during events. We are flexible and can work with your class schedule.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at an accredited university
Must be eligible to receive course credit for an unpaid internship and show proof of said credit.Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must have ability to think quickly, creatively
Eager to learn and be proactive with new tasks
Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment with good humor and exceptional customer service
Must be punctual, organized and detail oriented
Strong project management skills
Excellent phone demeanor, written and oral communication skills
Internet savvy, proficient with using the net as a research tool
Reliable transportation
Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point) is a must!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES BY DEPARTMENT
Administrative
Provide support to the General Manager and Administrative Assistant
Organize community-related efforts and outreach
Implement and ensure sustainability of assigned projects throughout the office
Data entry and database maintenance
Work with marketing to maintain the look & feel of the venue
Help with unique and special venue projects as assigned
Operations
Provide support to the operations manager by assisting with show coverage for select performances
Assist with daily venue operations, including basic housekeeping, repair and maintenance projects, vendor management
Assist operations and event management staff
Roam venue during an event to watch all operations in action
*Please note that all interns will be asked to assist with other departments as necessary throughout internship.
