Description

Chemonics seeks a Finance & Compliance Review (FCR) Manager, to join our Risk Management Division. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are knowledgeable about U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) regulations, financial compliance, and accounting. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, share lessons learned, demonstrate solid judgment, and enjoy travel. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Travel to field offices or remotely conduct reviews to obtain reasonable assurance of project compliance with Chemonics, USAID, and Federal policies and procedures

  • Write and review assignment reports outlining observations and recommendations about project compliance

  • Track the status of recommendations and ensure their timely implementation by regularly meeting with Project Management Units (PMUs) and communicating with the field offices

  • Assist with external audits and reviews conducted by third-parties and provide required information related to project(s) under audit/review

  • Provide financial compliance guidance for PMU and field office

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree and experience strongly preferred in areas of accounting, business, economics, finance, or management

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience with ability to handle routine tasks and operational issues

  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for upwards of 40% of the time per year

  • Experience living or conducting work (including volunteer activates) in developing countries preferred

  • Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets

  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results

  • Able to multitask and manage time effectively

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

  • Knowledge of audit or accounting software and/or statistical sampling methodogies preferred

  • French or Spanish language proficiency preferred
