CACI International Information Security Specialist in Washington, District Of Columbia
What You’ll Get to Do:
Provide Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties in support of the International Trade Administration (ITA) Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) program. The successful candidate will research, develop, implement, test, and review information security to protect organizational data and prevent unauthorized access to ITA information systems. ITA ISSOs are responsible for gathering information necessary to maintain security and establish functioning authorization boundary protection and security measures. They define, create and maintain security documentation for Certification and Accreditation (C&A)/Assessment and Authorization (A&A) in accordance with government and organizational requirements. ITA ISSOs are also responsible for evaluating impact off system modifications and technological advances, and updating security documentation accordingly.
More About the Role:
Develop, review, and update security plans, testing plans, and related system security documentation;
Ensure systems and applications A&A packages are complete and thoroughly documented in accordance with requisite federal requirements;
Assist in the determination of an appropriate level of security commensurate with the impact level;
Participate in risk assessments to periodically re-evaluate sensitivity of the system, risks and mitigation strategies;
Develop and manage plan of actions and milestones (POAM), waiver requests, security guidelines and checklists for ITA systems/devices;
Coordinate and interact with government and other contractor staff with technical understanding of systems and applications to ensure the A&A package is complete;
Collaborate on critical IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the System Design Life Cycle (SDLC);
Maintain cooperative relationship with business partners or other interconnected systems including System Owners, Network security architects and engineers, and information system security officers; and
Advise system owners regarding security considerations in applications systems procurement or development, implementation, operation and maintenance, and disposal activities (i.e. life cycle management).
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
10 years’ work experience, of which at least 8 are specialized in Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) / Certification and Accreditation (C&A);
Working knowledge of US Government security regulations and methodologies, FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST special publications;
Applied knowledge of Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) C&A/A&A activities;
General technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems (Microsoft Windows, UNIX and Linux), system design/development, and network architecture.
Excellent self-motivation, time management, teamwork, and client service skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to convey complex technical information to individuals or groups in an effective manner, listen to others and respond appropriately, and develop clear and accurate technical documentation;
Good problem-solving skills including the ability to anticipate as well as identify problems, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Cyber Security Assessment and Management. (CSAM) experience.
