Engility is seeking an experienced cyber professional that will help evaluate, secure, and maintain a high cyber security posture of DHS IT systems. The candidate will interface with Engility management, network engineers and software developers on a daily basis. The candidate ensures the implementation of the most current NIST and government cyber security polices and regulations. In addition, the candidate will:

  • Collaborate with software developers, system maintainers, data managers, and other cyber personnel on a daily basis

  • Use state of the art cyber tools to evaluate the cyber posture of select DHS IT systems

  • Apply Patches, fixes, changes, and upgrades to DHS IT systems to ensure a strong cyber defense.

  • Periodically check, test, and maintain a high cyber security posture on select DHS IT systems.

  • Work with software developers to help build in cyber protections to new DHS IT systems being developed

  • Provide advice and guidance to Engility managers concerning the cyber posture of DHS IT systems

  • Remain current on cyber issues, rules, and regulations that affect DHS IT Systems

  • Interface and work with other Engility cyber team members

  • Develop test scenarios for use in Red Team / penetration testing of government systems under test

  • Author test plans and reports for systems under test

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field with 6 years of combined work experience

  • A+, Network +, and/or Security + certification

  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and maintaining cyber controls and a strong security posture

  • Knowledge of applicable NIST and Government regulations pertaining to cyber security

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Must possess or be able to qualify for a DOD security clearance and obtain DHS suitability.

  • Experience using cyber tools to evaluate system security.

  • Ability to communicate clearly regarding issues concerning testing, implementation and maintenance of high cyber security posture.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of radiological/nuclear material detectors is highly desired.

  • Experience in operational support for coordinating tasks related to training and exercise activities.
