The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert technical writing for competitive proposals aimed at winning US Federal Government procurements.
Principal responsibility is supporting the proposal process by interacting with the proposal manager, capture manager, sales team, and various technical experts to interpret RFP technical requirements and articulate relevant answers in proposal verbiage.
Specifically, the Technical Writer will accomplish the following:
Follow the proposal plan set by the proposal manager
Read, interpret, and understand the customer’s RFP technical requirements
Interview the Dell technical subject matter experts to understand the solution as it is designed and proposed
Collate input from subject matter experts in different disciplines in order to effectively propose and describe a single technical solution to the customer.
Create effective, written responses to RFP technical questions/requirements based on a variety of input (i.e. subject matter expert interaction, powerpoint presentations, etc)
Organize written material to conform with RFP requirements regarding format, style, page count, etc
Attend technical training to maintain up to date knowledge on the latest Dell technical solutions
Must be able to work successfully in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. Must possess a clear understanding of Shipley-based proposal process. Must understand enterprise technical solutions offered by Dell (servers, storage, cloud computing, HPC, VDI, etc). Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision. Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe. Bachelor’s Degree required. Technical background in related IT field preferred. Familiarity with US Federal Government business preferred.
