          As a member of the Perioperative Surgical Team and under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse and/or an anesthesiologist assists in the delivery of patient care to pediatric surgical patients in a safe and organized manner. Provides registered nurses with support for the delivery of patient care. Provides the anesthesiologist with support for the delivery of patient care in the various locations where anesthesia is provided.

          This position will be responsible for maintaining supplies and equipment in the induction room and all anesthetizing locations: set-up and supporting complex anesthesia cases, including but not limited to cardiac cases; and encuring availability of anesthesia equipment and monitors; performing routine maintenance and point of care testing and documentation on anesthesia medical devices. In addition, may provide patient transport and environmental service support as needed.

          Education & Training Required: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Current certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians (ASA) certification program or equivalent preferred.

          Experience Required: 2-3 years in a Perioperative Services Assistant position or anesthesia tech position required.

          Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Possess good oral and written communication skills. Performs oral and written tasks accurately. Possess good organizational skills and pays attention to detail. Interacts professionally with staff, patients and families. Receptive to both verbal and written directions. Able to maintain composure and focus on assigned tasks in a high stress environment.
