TheMedical Assistantis primarily responsible to provide basic patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting. This includes, but not limited to, working with health care providers and other health center employees; initiating medical history, vital signs, height, weight; preparing patients for examination; reporting special problems or complaints to providers; making appropriate clinic appointments for patients and follow up to determine if appointments were kept.
Required Education/Required Training:High school graduate or GED. Graduate of accredited medical assistant program with diploma. Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Required Experience:Minimum of 6 months to 1-year of clinical experience in an acute care/ambulatory setting/ special needs population (i.e., homeless, HIV+, medically indigent).
Experience working with underserved or homeless populations preferred. *For correctional position-correctional experience- preferred but not required.
