          Combat Systems Acquisition Systems Engineer (Job Number:319415)

          Description:
          The Defense and Maritime Solutions Business Unit is seeking a Combat Systems Acquisition Systems Engineer for the Washington DC office.

          DDG 1000 is the lead ship of the Zumwalt class of next-generation destroyers specializing in land attack and littoral dominance. The Combat Systems Acquisition Systems Engineer provides support for DDG 1000 combat systems integration efforts at Naval Sea Systems Command, including programmatic, technical, and financial support for the DDG 1000 Ship Integration and Test Manager.

          This task includes:

          - coordination of multiple DDG 1000 integration and test Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) responsible for governance, technical, and financial aspects of combat systems land-based and waterfront integration and test activities

          - preparation of high level program schedules and coordination across all DDG 1000 systems providers for financial, programmatic and contractual ability to execute the DDG 1000 ship integration and test program

          - preparation and presentation of executive-level briefings for flag-level meetings and senior executives as it relates to the DDG 1000 program

          Ideal candidate can work independently on longer-range, months-long projects and also have an aggressive, can-do attitude that can solve problems quickly or identify who can within the DDG 1000 Navy/industry enterprise. Candidate must be comfortable in a Captain-level, Major Program Manager high-tempo work environment and work seamlessly within a Captain's Staff.

          Required Education and Experience:

          Position requires at least 10 years associated naval engineering work experience and a B.S. in an associated field, preferably engineering. 15 years total related experience can be substituted for bachelor's degree. Candidates with M.S. preferred. Proficiency with MS Office software set of business tools. Working knowledge of NAVSEA business and financial management tools and processes to include Task Planning Sheet generation and tracking, Form 7300 generation and tracking, Navy ERP, PACMAN and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes.
