TheChief Nursing Officer(CNO)will be responsible for the development, coordination and evaluation of nursing services within Unity Health Care – Outpatient Services. The CNOis responsible for the practice of Nursing by ensuring consistence in the standard of practice across the clinical settings. As a member of the Clinical/Medical Leadership Team, the CNO supports and facilitates an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of care. This includes creating a nursing environment in which collaboration is valued and excellence in clinical care and education is promoted and achieved. The CNO ensures the continued advancement of the profession of Nursing.
Major Duties/Essential Functions:
- Identifies and articulates the vision and strategic direction for the discipline of Nursing and collaborates on the implementation of strategies to achieve them.
- Provides leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention and recognition of excellence in Nursing; including oversight, projects, and recommendations for the disciplines of Nursing.
- Promotes and fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and the coordination of care among disciplines for the sustainability of the Patient Centered Medical Home.
- Assures that the patient care delivery model(s), clinical and staffing standards for nursing are consistent with current research and professional standards and with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Collaborates with Medical/Clinical leadership to promote continuity and consistency of care across individual health centers in a cost efficient manner.
- Assures that all nursing services are provided in compliance with all applicable standards and requirements of all applicable regulatory bodies.
Required Education/Required Training:
- BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Master’s in Nursing, Education, and/or health related field preferred
