          Directs, supervises and provides holistic, culturally competent, quality and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients/families. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's shared decision making frame work. Collaboratively manages the patient’s transitions across the continuum of care, to assist patients or populations in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health. Is recognized as a professional role model and clinical expert and promotes a professional environment that supports continuous learning. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. The Assistant Nurse Director supports, assists and reports to the Nurse Director. Can assume the role of Nurse Director in his/her absence. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required ormustbe completed within 2 years from date of employment. Master’s degree or Master’s enrolled preferred. Approximately three to four years of progressively more responsible job related experience. Licensure as a registered nurse in theDistrict of Columbiais required. BLS required. Assistant Nurse Director should set a professional goal to become certified in his/her specialty within a year on the job.
